We are delighted to bring together the Chagford Singers and the Dartmouth Orchestra (both under the Directorship of Tim Pithers) to perform Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, and a number of wonderful solos and opera choruses on 6th April 2019. Our tenor soloist is Edward Dunne and our baritone soloist is Dominic Rousseau.

The Dartmouth Orchestra (Leader Brenda Willoughby) will also perform the overture from Il Matrimonio Segreto by Domenico Cimarosa

This is the first time the choir has ventured from St Michael’s to the spacious and acoustically re-fitted Jubilee Hall in Chagford allowing more ample space for the orchestra.  As another first, those wishing to attend can book tickets and programmes through our website (from 1st March), a facility which we tested in run up to the Christmas concert.

Don’t miss this wonderful programme and an evening of verve and fun.

Other information:

  • Doors open at 7pm. Wine or soft drink on sale.
  • Length of performance approx 2hrs 15mins
  • Opera choruses: Verdi Anvil Chorus, Donizetti Chorus of Wedding Guests, Verdi Hebrew Slaves, Rossini Villagers’ Chorus.
